Purpose: This research aims to evaluate the effect of the online library services training event organized within the scope of T & Uuml;B & Idot;TAK 2237-A on the knowledge levels of Information and Records Management (IRM) department students regarding children with special needs. The event aimed to draw attention to the importance of library services for children with special needs and to provide students with professional, ethical approaches in this field. Method: Within the scope of the research, 11 expert educators in the field conducted three-day online trainings. Before the training, 53 participants were administered a pre-test to measure their knowledge levels, and then the training program was started. The trainings were shaped around themes such as defining children with special needs, determining their needs, spatial design in libraries, social studies, and interactive book reading. After the training, the same group was given a post-test to evaluate the change in their knowledge levels. Findings: The participants' knowledge levels were evaluated, and a significant increase was observed. The training effectively increased students'knowledge levels regarding developing library services for children with special needs. Conclusion: The findings point out that online training significantly contributes to the academic and professional development of IRM department students. The knowledge acquired by the participants seems to increase their motivation to design inclusive library services for children with special needs. Originality: This study presents an original contribution to the field by evaluating the effects of a program focused on increasing the knowledge and awareness of IRM department students towards children with special needs.
