Yükseköğretimde çevre eğitiminin çevre bilincine etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırma, Bartın Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümü lisans programında öğrenim gören son sınıf öğrencilerinin, öğrenim süreci boyunca aldıkları çevre eğitiminin, çevre sorunları ile ilgili bilgi ve bilinç düzeylerine ve çevre duyarlıklarına etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Söz konusu programda kayıtlı olan 120 öğrenciyle yapılan anket çalışması neticesinde elde edilen verilere dayanılarak; aldıkları eğitim süreci içerisinde çevreye karşı farkındalıklarının arttığı saptanmıştır. Eğitim düzeyi yüksek bir ailede büyüyen öğrencilerin bireysel olarak çevre bilincinin daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Dolayısıyla çevreye ilişkin tehdit, tehlike ve kaygıların önümüzdeki dönemlerde daha da artacağı açıkça görüldüğüne göre bilgi ve bilinç düzeyinin artırılması için yarının ebeveynlerinin çevre, çevre sorunları ve çevre eğitimi konusunda bilgilendirilmesinin ve bilinçlendirilmesinin ne denli önemli olduğu ortaya çıkmaktadır.

This research was carried out to determine the effect of environmental education, received during the education process of the fourth-year students studying in the undergraduate program of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Bartin University, on the level of knowledge and awareness of environmental problems and environmental sensitivity. Based on the data obtained as a result of the survey conducted with 120 students enrolled in the program, it was determined that the awareness of the students towards the environment increased during the education process they received. It has been concluded that students who grow up in a family with a high education level have higher environmental awareness individually. Therefore, as it is clear that the threats, dangers and concerns about the environment will increase in the coming periods, it becomes clear how important it is to inform and raise awareness of the students, who will be the parents of tomorrow, about the environment, environmental problems and environmental education in order to increase the level of knowledge and awareness
