OTTOMANISM READINGS IN THE CONTEXT OF CHANGE OF REALITY IN KEMAL TAHİR'S THOUGHT

Abstract

In this study, the opinion about Ottoman society structure were investigated inKeman Tahir's Thought. Kemal Tahir emphasized a socialist point of view on theOttoman issue and criticized the absence and lack of feudal traces in the earlier stagesof the capitalist struggle in the transitional phase of socialism. After that he turned toAsian Type of Production Style (ATPS) and described the otoman as an ATPS state butthe features on the diagram were not seen like that because of this he named this as a“Corrupted ATPS State” in the last stage he described the Ottoman society structure asa type of society which has its own qualities and he considered it as on original stagewithout trying to put it into any scheme. Acording to Kemal Tahir, the Ottoman is theguardian of the eastern societies and an political ptotector against west and also is astate that has the task of protecting the east from the western hegomony. It can be seenthat in this study Kemal Tahir was not stock in an only certain way at thinking thatdescribes this situtation. He also criticized the situation and himself.Keywords: Kemal Tahir, Ottomanism, feudalism, capitalism, Asian type ofproduction style.Bu çalışmada Kemal Tahir düşüncesinde Osmanlı toplum yapısı üzerine ilerisürülen görüşlerin geçtiği aşamalar incelenmiştir. Kemal Tahir, Osmanlı konusuüzerine sosyalist bir bakış açısı ile eğilmiş ve önceleri sosyalizme geçiş aşamasındakapitalist aşamanın bir önceki aşaması olan feodal izler aramış ve bunun yokluğunueleştirmiştir. Ardından Asya Tipi Üretim Tarzı (ATÜT) konusuna eğilmiş ve Osmanlı'yıbir ATÜT devleti olarak nitelemiş, ancak şemadaki özellikler tam anlamıylagörülmeyince bir “bozuk ATÜT devleti” olarak tanımlamıştır. Son aşamada ise Osmanlıtoplum yapısını kendine özgü nitelikleri olan bir toplum tipi olarak açıklamış veherhangi bir şemaya sokmaya çalışmadan orijinal bir aşama olarak değerlendirmiştir.Kemal Tahir'e göre Osmanlı Doğu toplumlarının koruyucusu ve Batı'ya karşı askerianlamda savunucusu bir siyasi kuruluş olup, Doğu'yu Batı soygunundan korumayıgörev edinmiş bir devlettir. Çalışmada Kemal Tahir'in konu üzerinde düşüncesininbelli bir açıklama biçimine saplanmadığı, yeri geldiğinde kendini de eleştiren birşekilde farklı ve ileri aşamalara evrildiği vurgulanmıştır.
