Children's literature is a branch of literature that teaches children to express their thoughts and feelings in a simple, artistic literary format, with words and rhythm that are easy to memorize and pronounce. It is an educational literary genre that helps the education and upbringing of the child. The themes of childhood poetry emerge from the child's social environment, nature and inner world. This helps them to understand and enrich their world of meaning. From time immemorial, childhood was, and still is, the center of attention of poets and writers. Because this stage is a sensitive and important stage that builds human life and is the first core on which the principles of the child's future life are based. The poem for children is established in the mind of the poet, in which he gives important educational messages. Educational poems for children; It revolves around values such as worship, parental integrity, patriotism, and moral behavior patterns. In writing poetry for children, the age level, the choice of a soft and warm language, the preference of home-school-friends and close environment are important. Poetic stories that teach children popular proverbs are also important in this context. Oaths and anthems sung in the morning in schools also serve a function that affects the personality of children and improves their social adaptation. People do not forget such poems and activities, even if they leave their innocent childhood and youth years behind.
