MISTAKES AND DEFICIENCIES IN THE USAGE OF PHEROMONE TRAPS AGAINST BARK BEETLES

Abstract

Forests, which are one of the important resources of Turkey, are faced with the threat of many biotic and abiotic factors. Forest pest insects are the leading biotic factors and the damage caused by them is much more than forest fires, so it is expressed as smokeless fire. It is of vital importance to protect our forest resources and ensure their sustainability. For this reason, it is necessary to controlling tothe bark beetles, which are the leading pests, in accordance with the nature. Today, different methods compatible with nature are used instead of chemical control. The most widely used method for pest control is sexual pheromone trap systems. Pheromone traps are one of the most successful methods used to controlling the bark beetles. The biggest advantage of this method is that it is specific to the species and is nature friendly. The most important factor affecting the success of the struggle is the attention to application principles. The selection of the insect species and the specific pheromone preparation is very important in the establishment of pheromone traps. In addition, it is of great importance that natural enemy species that fall into traps are released back into nature by regular checks. The pheromone preparations should be hung on the traps 2 weeks before the target species flying time. Traps should be hung securely in forest openings or on the edges of stands, taking into account the prevailing wind direction. In order not to lose the effectiveness of unused / to be used later preparations, they should be stored in suitable temperature conditions. For this reason, taking into account the number of personnel, assignments for these works will ensure that more accurate and accurate results are obtained, and this will contribute to our struggle. In this study, it was tried to give mistakes and deficiencies encountered in pheromone trap applications in the field studies carried out in different years and regions in the field.

Ülkemizin önemli kaynaklarından olan ormanlarımız birçok biyotik ve abiyotik etmenlerin tehdidi ile karşı karşıyadır. Biyotik etmenlerin başında orman zararlısı böcekler gelmekte ve bunların neden olduğu zarar orman yangınlarından çok daha fazla olması dolayısıyla dumansız yangın şeklinde ifade edilmektedir. Orman kaynaklarımızın korunması ve sürdürebilirliğinin sağlanması hayati öneme sahiptir. Bu nedenle bu zararlıların başında gelen kabuk böcekleri ile doğaya uygum mücadele edilmesi gerekmektedir. Günümüzde kimyasal mücadele yerine doğaya uyumlu farklı yöntemler kullanılmaktadır. Zararlı böceklerle mücadele amacıyla en geniş kullanım alanına sahip olan yöntem feromon tuzak sistemleridir. Feromon tuzakları kabuk böcekleriyle de mücadele kullanılan en başarılı yöntemlerden biridir. Bu yöntemin en büyük avantajı türe özgü oluşu ve doğaya dost olmasıdır. Mücadelenin başarısını etkileyen en önemli faktör uygulama esaslarına dikkat edilmesidir. Bu çalışmada arazide farklı yıllarda ve bölgelerde yapılan arazi çalışmalarında, feromon tuzağı uygulamalarda karşılaşılan hata ve eksiklikler verilmeye çalışılmıştır.
