A Study on the Investigation of Occupational Accidents and Occupa-tional Diseases in Furniture Industry Employees

Abstract

This study was carried out with the aim of examining work accidents and occupational diseases in furniture industry workers. The data of the study were obtained using survey method (280 questionnaires were included in the study). Istatistical packaged software (SPSS 20) was used for data input and analysis. Descriptive data were presented using mean, standard deviation, frequency, percentage, minimum and maximum values. Chi-Square test was used in the univariate analysis of dependent and independent variables. It was understood that the employees did not use their personal protective equipments regularly and carelessness was the greatest cause of accident. It was determined that they had accidents mainly during the process of cutting. It was determined that there was a significant correlation between age, income status and health problems and the state of having occupational accidents.

Bu çalışma mobilya sektörü çalışanlarında iş kazası ve meslek hastalıklarının incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma verilerinin elde edilmesinde anket yöntemi uygulanmıştır (280 anket çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır). Veri girişi ve analizi için SPSS istatistiksel 20,0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Tanımlayıcı verilerin sunumunda ortalama, standart sapma, frekans, yüzde, minimum ve maksimum değerleri kullanılmıştır. Bağımlı, bağımsız değişkenlerin tek değişkenli analizinde Ki-Kare testi kullanılmıştır. Çalışanların kişisel koruyucu ekipmanlarını düzenli olarak kullanmadıkları, dikkatsizliğin en büyük kaza sebebi olduğu anlaşılmıştır. En fazla kesim işlemi sırasında kaza geçirdikleri belirlenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda yaş, gelir durumu ve sağlık sorunları ile iş kazası geçirme durumu arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir
