PAPHLAGONİA'DA BİR PERS PRENSESİ VE ONUN KENTİ: AMASTRİS

Abstract

Amastris, antik dönemde Paphlagonia olarak bilinen Batı Karadeniz Bölgesi'ninen önemli kentlerinden biridir. Günümüzde dahi antik kalıntıları ve muhteşemdoğasıyla antik dönemdeki görkeminin yansımalarını taşımaktadır. Kentin isimkaynağı olan Amastris, Pers İmparatorluğu'nun son yöneticisi III.Dareios'un yeğeni, birPers prensesidir. Amastris'in Pers sarayından Karadeniz kentine gelen kadar geçirdiğimacera dolu yaşamı ve sonucunda tarihte kendi adına bir devlet kurarak adına parabasılan ilk kraliçe olmasıyla fark yaratmıştır. Makalemizde bu Pers prensesininPaphlagonia'ya gelişi, Kraliçe oluşu, Amastris kentini kurması ve ardından kendioğulları tarafından sonlanan hayat hikayesi temel alınmıştır. Buna ek olarakAmastris'in kurduğu kentteki yönetim anlayışı ve kült gelenekleriyle Amastris'inkentine dair ipuçları değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Amastris is one of the most important cities of the Western Black Sea Regionknown as Paphlagonia in antiquity. Even today, the city carries antique remains andmagnificent natures reflecting the ancient glory. Amastris, the source of the city'sname, is the nephew of the last ruler of the Persian Empire III.Dareios, a Persianprincess. It is important that Amastris be the first queen to have money in his name byestablishing a state in his own name in history and the result of his adventurous life,from the Persian palace to the Black Sea city. In our work, the story of the Persianprincess coming to Paphlagonia, forming a queen, founding the city of Amastris andthen being killed by his own sons, was discussed. In addition, it was tried to assess theclues of the city of Amastris with regards to her management style and cult traditionsin the city that founded by Amastris
