Medreseler üzerine bir literatür denemesi

Abstract

Medreseler günümüzün ilköğretim ve ortaöğretim düzeylerinin üzerinde eğitim veren kurumlardır. İnsanlık tarihi boyunca ister medrese usûlü örgün eğitim programlarıyla ister yaygın eğitimle işlerliğini sürdüregelmiştir. Tebliğimizin hedefi genel hatlarıyla ayrıntılara dalmadan bir literatür denemesi gerçekleştirmektir. Medreselerin tarihî sürecine baktığımızda yaygın ve örgün eğitim boyutlarını görebiliriz. İslâm Tarihinde Peygamberimizin (s.a.s.) hicretten sonra ilk iş olarak inşa ettirdiği Mescid-i Nebevî’nin içinde yer alan “Suffa” adlı medrese (Baktır, 1984) hem örgün hem de yaygın eğitimin temellerini teşkil ediyordu. Hz. Peygamberin (s.a.s.) Suffa’da yaptığı dersler, okuduğu hutbeler ve kadınlara ayrı bir gün tahsis edip onlara vaz’ etmesini planlı, programlı örgün eğitim; hem de ansızın Medine’ye gelen elçiler ve misafirlerin sordukları sorulara Peygamberimizin (s.a.s.) cevaplarından Sahâbe-i Kirâm’ın öğrenmesini, yaygın eğitim faaliyetleri olarak addediyoruz.

Madrasas are institutions that provide education at a level beyond that of contemporary primary and secondary schools. Throughout human history, they have maintained their relevance through either formal education programs based on the madrasa model or non-formal education. This paper aims to conduct a literature review in broad strokes, without delving into minute detail. When examining the historical evolution of madrasas, we can observe both formal and non-formal educational dimensions. In Islamic history, the “Suffa -a madrasa (Baktır, 1984) located within the Masjid al-Nabawi (the Prophet’s Mosque), which the Prophet (peace be upon him) had constructed as his first act after the Hijra- laid the foundations for both formal and non-formal education. We classify the Prophet’s lessons and sermons at the Suffa, as well as his practice of dedicating a specific day to preach to women, as planned and structured formal education; conversely, we regard the learning experiences of the Noble Companions -often prompted by questions from envoys and guests who arrived unexpectedly in Medina- as forms of non-formal education.
