The research aims to scrutinise the connections of the geometry learning domain of the primary school mathematics lesson with everyday life in the context of objective, content, learning-teaching process, and assessment and evaluation. The qualitative research method was applied in the study. The research design has been determined as a case study. 32 classroom teachers participated in the study group of the research. A structured interview form were benefited as data collection tools. The data were analysed inductively. MAXQDA 20 package programmes were employed in the data analysis. It was concluded in the study that the learning-teaching process was insufficiently connected with everyday life, and the connection tended to decrease as the grade level increased. In terms of assessment and evaluation, it was disclosed that the connection with everyday life was insufficient owing to narrow and superficial measurements, inappropriateness to student level, and abstractedness. © 2023 ASPE.
