Hizmet ticaretinin dünya ve Türkiye ekonomisindeki yeri

Abstract

Ekonomideki üç temel sektörden biri olan hizmetler sektörü, günümüzde birçok ülke için baúlıca üretim ve istihdam kayna÷ıdır. Bilgi teknolojisindeki geliúmelerin ticarete konu mamul malların hizmet içeri÷ini artırması, bu sektörün dünya ticaretindeki payını da sürekli artırmaktadır. Hizmet ticaretinin uluslararası ticaretteki a÷ırlı÷ı anlaúıldıktan sonra, bu alanda hem geliúmiú hem de geliúmekte olan ülkeler dikkat çekici bir geliúme sürecine girmiúlerdir. Hizmet ticareti Türkiye ekonomisi açısından da her zaman etkin bir role sahip olmuútur. Birçok dönemde Türkiye’nin dıú ticaret ve cari açıklarının dengelenmesinde özellikle turizm, inúaat gibi hizmet sektörlerinden elde edilen döviz gelirleri kullanılmıútır. Türkiye’nin uluslararası hizmet ticaretindeki payının daha da artırılabilmesi için, geleneksel rekabet gücünün oldu÷u sektörlere potansiyeli olan yeni alt sektörler eklenmeli ve çalıúmalar bu alanlarda daha fazla yo÷unlaútırılmalıdır.The sector of services, one of the three main sectors in economy, is the main source of production and employment today. The increase in the service content of manufactured goods, subject of trade, by developments in information technology, increases this sector’s share in international trade. After getting awareness about the importance of trade of services in international trade, both developed and developing countries have been mproving their situation remarkably in that area. International trade in services has always had an effective role in terms of Turkish economy. During the last periods, foreign exchange earnings obtained from service sectors were used in balancing of Turkey's foreign trade and current account deficits, especially ones from tourism and construction sectors. In order to increase Turkey’s share in international trade in services, new sub-sectors should be added to this sector in which there is customary competitive advantage; and further studies should be intensified in these areas.
