Özet
Water is the leading natural resource, which is decreasing as a result of the excessive consumption of resources and pollution due to the increasing population and unplanned urbanization in the world. The study is based on the personal water footprint assessment tool created by the Water Footprint Network (WFN). This article aims to investigate individuals' perception of sustainable water use based on the academic title through information about WE The population of this study is Bailin University academics. 111 academics participated in this study via by questionnaire. Data were analysed using SPSS 23. The findings show that; the average personal water footprint of academics is 1444,12 m3'year. Also, the academic title significantly affects personal water footprint. However, Bartin University academics' water footprint average is lower than the personal water footprint average of Turkey (1.977 m3/year). It was concluded that academics have a high environmental awareness and they provide individually effective water mana4ement.
