Öğretmen olmanın standartları

Abstract

Öğretmenlik mesleği, diğer mesleklerden farklı bir meslektir. Çünkü ürünü insandır. İnsan ise dünyadaki en değerli varlıktır. Bu noktada öğretmenlik mesleğini tercih edecek kişiler için hem lisans programına girişte, hem de mesleğe başladığında sahip olması gereken birtakım standartların belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Mevcut durumdaki öğretmen olma şartları incelendiğinde aslında herkesin rahatça bu mesleği yapabileceği görülmektedir. Ancak diğer meslek dallarına bakıldığında ilgili mesleğin niteliğine uygun ölçütlerin olduğu görülmektedir. Öğretmenlik mesleğini tercih edenlerde lisans programına girişte herhangi bir standart aranmamaktadır. Üniversite sınavında ilgili öğretmenlik bölümünün taban puanını alan her birey o programa girme hakkını elde edebilmektedir. Sadece bilişsel becerileri dikkate alıp, duyuşsal becerileri hesaba katmamak ileride öğretmenlik mesleği açısından çok ciddi handikapların doğmasına neden olabilmektedir. Gazete haberleri incelendiğinde çocuk istismarı yapan, taciz ve şiddet uygulayan öğretmenlere rastlanmaktadır. Araştırmanın amacı öğretmen olma standartlarının gözden geçirilip, niteliksel yönden geçerli olabilecek ölçütlerin getirilmesini sağlamaktır. Bu çalışma, olumsuz öğretmen davranışlarıyla ilgili olarak yapılan araştırmalar ve basında çıkan haberleri ortaya koymaya yönelik derleme türü bir araştırmadır.

Teaching profession is different from the other professions. Because, its output is human, and human is the most precious creature in the world. That is why, some standards should be defined for the people who will do this profession both during the entrance to bachelor’s degree and and beginning of their profession. When current conditions for becoming a teacher are studied, it can be seen that everybody can easily do this job. However, when other professions are studied, it can be seen that there are some suitable professional criteria for those professions. There are no standards while entering to the bachelor’s degree for the ones that will choose becoming a teacher. Any individuals getting enough score for the departments of teacher training from the university entrance exam get the right to enter those programs. Just regarding cognitive skills and not taking affective skills into consideration may cause very serious handicaps for the profession in the future. There can be seen some teachers who make child abuse, harassment and violence whennewspapers are studied. There are no standards while entering to the bachelor’s degree for the ones that will choose becoming a teacher.
