dc.description.abstractWe explained these topics in this chapter: Description of Green Deep Eutectic Solvents, Biocatalysis and its Role in Bioprocesses, Properties of Green Deep Eutectic Solvents, Applications of DESs in Polar Organometallic Chemistry, Applications of DESs in Metal-Catalyzed reactions, Applications of DESs in Biocatalysis, Reactions Catalyzed by Lewis Acid Type DESs, Reactions Catalyzed by Brønsted Acid Type DESs, Combining Deep Eutectic Solvents with Enzymes to Create a Potent Toolbox for Organic Synthesis, Utilizing Deep Eutectic Solvents to Synthesize Green Nanoparticles and Their Use in Water Treatment, DES as Solventfor Whole-Cell Biocatalysis, DES as Extractive Agents in Biotransformation, and DES Function in Biomass Pretreatment. The potential industrial applications of deep eutectic solvent-mediated nanoparticles are significant and promising,provided more research and development is done to expand the scope to more nanoparticle systems and better control the properties of NPs. They would make a significant contribution to the advancement of environmentally friendly technologies, such as water treatment. The characteristics of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) and their uses during the last ten years are compiled in this chapter. The physical characteristics of DESs and ionic liquids are similar, indicating that they are members of a different class of liquid than molecular liquids. DESs have been found to be readily prepared and biodegradable, whereas ILs have proven to be more complex and have a lower capacity for biodegradation. Because of the differences in their chemical characteristics, DESs and ILs have distinct application fields. DESs are well suited for effective separation due to their characteristics. © 2026 Scrivener Publishing LLC. All rights reserved.
