Özet
This study examines by the plasma method, the microstructure and abrasive wear performance of AISI1040 steel surface coated with 5% SiO2, 3% TiO2, 92% Cr2O, 60% Al2O3, 40% TiO2, pure Al2O3, 87% Al2O3 and 13% TiO2 ceramic materials. To this end, the surface of AISI 1040 steel was coated with the ceramic materials of 5% SiO2, 3% TiO2, 92% Cr2O, 60% Al2O3, 40% TiO2, pure Al2O3, 87% Al2O3 and 13% TiO2 using the plasma method. Following the coating process, the abrasive wear behavior of each sample was tested by the ring-on-disc method. ZrO2 abrasive paper was used as abrasive. The best wear behavior was obtained with the ceramic coating containing 92% Cr2O, which was followed by pure Al(2)O3, 87% Al2O3 and 13% TiO2, respectively. The lowest wear resistance was observed in 60% Al2O3 and 40% TiO2 ceramic coating. Wear resistance of the samples increased with increasing micro hardness value. Micro cracking is the main wear mechanism in the samples with high micro hardness values, while micro scratching-type wear mechanism was detected in the samples with low hardness values.
