A NEW SPECIES OF CYANUS (ASTERACEAE) FROM TURKEY AND ITS NATURAL GROWING CONDITIONS

Abstract

A new species, Cyanus celikhanensis is described in Adiyaman province in the south part of Turkey. It is morphologically similar to Cyanus germanicopolitanus (Bornm.) Holub. Diagnostic morphological characters from closely similar taxa are tabulated. Distribution, habitat and ecology of the new species are also presented. In addition, the geographical distribution of the new species and other related species are presented and mapped.
