Sosyal bilgiler 6. ve 7. sınıf ders kitaplarındaki haberlerin sosyal bilgiler öğretim programındaki değerler açısından incelenmesi

Abstract

Toplumsal kabul görmüş doğruları içeren değerler bir yandan toplumu bir arada tutarken, diğer taraftan bireyin toplumsal bağını kuvvetlendirmektedir. Yeni yetişen neslin bu değerleri kazanabilmesi için sosyal bilgiler ders kitapları önemli bir role sahiptir. Fakat ders kitaplarında değerlerin kendi başına bir metin ya da doğrudan anlatımı yerine bir haber metni içinde yansıtılarak verilmesi hem değerin anlaşılmasını kolaylaştırmakta hem de davranışsal karşılığını gerçek hayattan örneklerle somutlaştırmaktadır. Bu nedenle sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarındaki haber metinlerinin toplumsal değerleri içerme durumlarının değerlendirilmesi ihtiyaçtır. İlköğretim 6. ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitabındaki haber metinlerinin değer aktarım durumlarının incelendiği bu çalışmada betimsel doküman incelemesi deseni benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın materyalini 2018-19 Eğitim Öğretim yılında 6. ve 7. sınıflarda Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabı olarak okutulması için MEB tarafından basılan sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarındaki haber nitelikli metinler oluşturmaktadır. Metinlerin analizinde doküman analizi yönteminin tercih edildiği bu araştırmada haber metinlerinin her iki sınıf ders kitaplarında da değer aktarımı amacıyla etkin kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Kitaplarda yer alan metin sayıları sınıflar açısından karşılaştırıldığında, 6. sınıf için değer aktarımı amacıyla tercih edilen metinlerin sayılarının 7. sınıflara göre daha fazla olduğu, metinlerin hemen her öğrenme alanında tercih edildiği, SBÖP'de yer alan her değerin metinler yoluyla aktarılmak için tercih edilmediği anlaşılmıştır. Haber metinlerinde aktarılan değerlerin çoğunun dolaylı yoldan aktarıldığı, geri kalanların aktarımında ise değer açıklamalı örnek olay veya sadece örnek olay yöntemlerinin tercih edildiği anlaşılmıştır.

While values including socially accepted truths hold society together, they also strengthen the social bond of the individual. Social studies textbooks play an important role for the new generation to gain these values. However, the presentation of values in textbooks by reflecting them in a news text instead of a text or direct expression on its own both facilitates the understanding of the value and concretizes its behavioral response with real life examples. For this reason, it is necessary to evaluate the status of the news texts in social studies textbooks including social values. In this study, which examines the value transfer of news texts in the 6th and 7th grade social studies textbook of primary education, the descriptive document analysis design has been adopted. The material of the study consists of news texts in social studies textbooks published by the Ministry of National Education to be used as a Social Studies textbook in 6th and 7th grades in the 2018-19 academic year. In this study, in which the document analysis method was preferred in the analysis of the texts, it was determined that the news texts were used effectively in the textbooks of both classes for value transfer. When the number of texts in the books were compared in terms of classes, it was understood that the number of texts preferred for the purpose of transferring value for the 6th grade was higher than the 7th grade, that the texts were preferred in almost every learning field, and not every value in the SCPP was preferred for transferring through texts.It has been understood that most of the values conveyed in the news texts are conveyed indirectly, and in the transfer of the rest, value-explained case studies or only case studies are preferred.
