Özet
The purpose of this research is to determine the views and practices of district national education managers regarding the talent management approach. A phenomenological research design was used in the study. The study group consisted of ten managers from different districts of Burdur province during the 2022-2023 academic year. Data were obtained through a semi-structured interview form and analyzed by using content analysis. It was reached that the definitions of talented employees by managers vary, but "communication and leadership skills" are prioritized. When views on talent management dimensions were examined; many wanted to have authority in the recruitment process, they emphasized representation ability and merit when assigning tasks, they paid attention to interests and abilities in task allocation, and expertise in performance evaluation. They also emphasized that being experienced should be the most important criteria in performance evaluation. The importance of in-service training in terms of development and the impact of collaboration and rewards in an off-duty environment for increasing motivation were emphasized. The recommendations for succession were found to include persuasion and motivation. While all participants expressed the view that talent management processes should be implemented in educational institutions, it is noteworthy that not all participants believed they were applicable under current circumstances. The research is believed to be a criticism and recommendation regarding human resources policies in educational institutions.
