dc.description.abstractThis study examined some of the chemical and morphological properties of apricot wood (Prunus armeniaca L.) and fruit endocarp. According to results, the holocellulose, alphacellulose, and lignin ratios of apricot wood were found to be 79.50%, 42.33% and 16.43% respectively. The holocellulose, alphacellulose, and lignin ratios of the apricot fruit endocarp were determined to be 79.33%, 28.65%, and 36.22%, respectively. In morphological terms, the apricot fruit endocarp has not been found to be suitable for paper manufacturing but it can be used for board manufacturing. And also, apricot wood is similar to the hardwood species that have industrial value, so it is a convenient raw material for pulp production.
