Bir kültürel miras olarak mozaik sanatı: Ortaokul 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin algısı ve deneyimleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, kültürel mirasın önemli bir unsuru olan mozaik sanatına ilişkin olarak ortaokul 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin algı ve deneyimlerini incelemektir. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin benimsendiği bu çalışma, fenomonoloji desen çerçevesinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma sürecinde belirli bir süre boyunca uygulanan mozaik sanat etkinlikleri kapsamında görüşmeler, gözlemler ve öğrencilerin ürettikleri sanatsal çalışmalar yoluyla veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, öğrencilerin mozaik sanatını yalnızca teknik becerilerin edinildiği bir etkinlikten ibaret görmediklerini; aynı zamanda kişisel, duygusal ve sosyal gelişimi destekleyen bir süreç olarak değerlendirdiklerini ortaya koymuştur. Öğrenciler; sabır, sorumluluk, odaklanma, stresle başa çıkma, motivasyon ve başarı duygusu gibi çeşitli değerlerin gelişimine katkı sağladıklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Ayrıca bu sürecin, psikolojik iyilik hâli ve sanatsal farkındalık üzerinde de olumlu etkiler yarattığı gözlemlenmiştir. Mozaik sanat uygulamaları doğrudan bir değerler eğitimi hedefi taşımamakla birlikte, süreç içerisinde bireysel ve sosyal değerlerin kendiliğinden geliştiği görülmüştür. Araştırma sonuçları, mozaik sanatının hem yaratıcı ifade hem de bütüncül gelişim açısından sanat eğitimine çok yönlü katkılar sunabilecek bir araç olduğunu göstermektedir.

The aim of this study is to examine the perceptions and experiences of 6th grade middle school students regarding mosaic art, which is an important element of cultural heritage. This research was conducted using qualitative methods within the framework of a phenomenological design. During the research process, data were collected through interviews, observations, and the students' artistic productions, all of which were carried out over a period of time through mosaic art activities. The findings revealed that the students did not perceive mosaic art merely as an activity for acquiring technical skills; rather, they viewed it as a process that supports personal, emotional, and social development. Participants expressed that the experience contributed to the development of various values such as patience, responsibility, focus, coping with stress, motivation, and a sense of achievement. It was also observed that the process had positive effects on students' psychological well-being and artistic awareness. Although mosaic art practices do not directly aim to deliver values education, the findings indicate that individual and social values emerge naturally throughout the process. The results of the study suggest that mosaic art can serve as a multifaceted tool in art education, offering opportunities for creative expression and holistic development.
