Turkish mother tongue courses in Vienna Islamic High School

Abstract

Göçmen kökenli öğrenciler arasında istikrarlı bir kişilik ve kimlik oluşumunun geliştirilmesi için, anadil edinimi çok önemlidir. Anadilini öğrenen göçmen kökenli öğrenciler hem kendi kimliklerini oluşturup hemde gelmiş oldukları ülkeleri ile kültürel özelliklerini daha sağlam bir yapıya dönüştürebilirler. Bu sebepledir ki; ikinci bir dilin öğrenilmesi, öğrenen kişinin kendi anadilini iyi bir şekilde bilmesini gerektirmektedir. Ayrıca kişinin bilişsel ve kendi anadil gelişiminin iyi olması ikinci dil olarak Avusturya’da Alman dili ediniminin başarısı için de bir temel oluşturmaktadır. Avusturya Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü tarafından 1999/2000 yılında Avusturya/Viyana şehrinde kurulan "Özel Viyana İslam Lisesi" (Islamisches Realgymnasium Wien)’ nde adı geçen okulun kuruluşunun ilk gününden beri Türk öğrencilere ek bir ders olarak Türkçe Anadil dersleri sunulmuştur. Ancak anadil eğitim derslerinin bu kadar önemli olmasına rağmen her sene Özel Viyana İslam Lisesi’ nde Türkçe Anadil derslerine yapılan kayıtların yeterli bir seviyede olmadığı görülmüştür. İşte bu çalışmada öncelikle bilimsel bir bakış açısıyla anadilde eğitimin neden acil bir ihtiyaç olduğunu ve daha sonra örnek olarak Özel Viyana İslam Lisesi’nde Türk öğrencilerine ek ders olarak sunulan Türkçe Anadil derslerine öğrencilerin neden yeterli kayıt yaptırmadıklarına dair sebepler – faktörler tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.

For the development of a stable personality and identity formation among immigrant students, acquisition of mother tongue is very important. Students with an immigrant background learning their mother tongue can create their own identities and transform their countries and cultural characteristics into a more robust structure. That is why; Learning a second language requires that the learner know his mother tongue well. Moreover, the fact that the person’s cognitive and native language development is well constitutes the basis for the success of German Language acquisition in Austria as a second language. Since the very first day of the establishment of the school called "Specialist Vienna Islamic High School" (Islamisches Realgymnasium Wien) established by the Austrian National Education Directorate in 1999/2000 in Austria/Vienna, Turkish language courses have been offered as an additional course to Turkish students. However, despite the fact that the mother tongue education courses are so important, it is seen that the records made in the Special Vienna Islamic High School and the Turkish Mother Language courses are not in a sufficient level every year. In this study, it was first tried to determine why there is an urgent need for education in Anatolia with a scientific point of view and to determine the reasons why the students did not register enough in the Turkish language courses offered as an additional course to the Turkish students in the Special Vienna Islamic High School.
