9. sınıf Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı ders kitabında yer alan Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli'nde hedeflenen değerleri kazandırmadaki rolüne yönelik öğretmen görüşleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, metin türlerinin Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli'nde hedeflenen değerleri kazandırmasına yönelik öğretmen görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Bu amaca yönelik, 9. Sınıf Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı ders kitabında yer alan edebi ve öğretici metinlerin, Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli'ne göre hedeflenen değerleri kazandırmadaki etkisi, bu ders kitabında yer alan metinlerin, temalara göre hedeflenen değerler ile uyumu incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma, hem Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı ders kitaplarının hem de Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli'nin incelenmesine yönelik öğretmen görüşü temelli ilk çalışma olması literatüre özgün bir katkı sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, araştırma konusu ve amacına uygun olarak nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak, Bartın ili sınırları içerisinde görev yapmakta olan, 9. sınıfların Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı derslerine giren 22 öğretmen ile gönüllülük esasına dayanarak görüşme yapılmıştır. Betimsel analiz sonrasında öğretmen görüşlerinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre, metinlerin ders kitabında bulundukları temalara göre hedeflenen değerlerle uyumlu olduğu ancak metinlerin öğrenci düzeyine uygun olmaması ve metinlerde değerleri örtük olarak işlenmesi açısından öğrencilerin değerleri kazandırılmada zorluk çektiği görülmüştür. Adalet değeri, çatı değer olmasına rağmen hem edebi hem de öğretici metinlerde en az etkili ortak değer, estetik değeri ise en fazla etkili bir şekilde kazandırılan ortak değer olarak görülmektedir. Öğretmenlerin söz konusu değerleri kazandırmada etkili olabilecek ve ders kitabında yer almasını istedikleri metin önerilerine de yer verilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanacak ders kitaplarına katkı sunması beklenmektedir.

The purpose of this research is to examine teachers' views on the role of texts included in the 9th grade Turkish Language and Literature textbook in imparting the values targeted by the Turkey Century Education Model. To this end, the impact of literary and educational texts included in the 9th grade Turkish Language and Literature textbook on imparting the values targeted by the Turkey Century Education Model was examined, as was the compatibility of the texts in this textbook with the targeted values according to themes. This study contributes to the literature as it is based on teachers' views regarding both Turkish Language and Literature textbooks and the Turkey Century Education Model. In this study, case study and semi-structured interview techniques, which are qualitative research methods, were used in line with the research topic and purpose. Using criterion sampling, interviews were conducted on a voluntary basis with 22 teachers teaching Turkish Language and Literature to 9th grade students within the province of Bartın. Following descriptive analysis, the results obtained from the teachers' views indicate that the texts are consistent with the targeted values according to the themes in the textbook. However, it was observed that the texts are not appropriate for the students' level and that students face difficulties in acquiring values due to the implicit treatment of values in the texts. Although justice is the overarching value, it was found to be the least effective common value in both literary and educational texts, while aesthetic value was the most effectively conveyed common value. The teachers also provided suggestions for texts that could be effective in conveying these values and that they would like to see included in the textbook. This study is expected to contribute to the textbooks to be prepared by the Ministry of National Education.
