dc.description.abstractSMA mixtures improve the permanent deformation resistance of hot-mixed asphalt mixtures. The effects of filler additives on moisture damage of SMA mixtures are investigated in this study. The class C and class F fly ashes and hydrated lime are used as filler additives. These are replaced with filler material at 0.5%, 1.0%, 2.0%, and 4% of the total weight of the mixture. Dry and wet (slurry) methods are used in mixing the filler additives. Class C fly ash significantly improved resistance to moisture damage. However, the effect of using liquid antistripping agent with filler additives is insignificant.
