Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Resilience as an Innovative Ecosystem Approach in Sustainable Urbanization

Abstract

Nature-based solutions stand out for improving the quality of life, fighting against the effects of climate change and increasing urban resilience. Nature-based solutions encompass the smart use of natural resources and play an important role in attaining sustainability. In this scope, ecosystem services and urban green infrastructure are related with nature-based solutions and nature-based solutions act as an umbrella concept. Nature-based solutions have been taken into consideration in the present study during which the concept of urban resilience has been examined. The need for green infrastructure as a nature-based solution approach has been emphasized for improving urban resilience and ensuring resilience against the impacts of climate change. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
