A View of Women in the Institutional Documents of the New Welfare Party and the Statements of Party Officials

Abstract

This study aimed to outline the attitude towards of the New Welfare Party which was founded in 2018 and is growing rapidly. As a result of detailed literature review, it has been observed that academic studies examining the womwn's issue specifically for political parties and as a very young the New Welfare Party are limited. This study claimed to fill the gap in the literature to some extent through archival research technique, historical and descriptive research methods and discorse analysis from a critical perspective. The main argument of the research is based on the thesis that the New Welfare Party, unlike most political parties, approaches the women's issue from a religious (Islamic) perspective. When the statute, party program, election declarations and statement of party officials of the New Welfare Party which takes the National Outlook Movement as a reference are examined, it becomes clear that an Islam-centered women's has been adopted.

Bu çalışma, 2018 yılında kurulan ve hızla büyüyen Yeniden Refah Partisi'nin kadına yönelik tutumunu ana hatlarıyla ele almayı amaçlamıştır. Detaylı literatür taraması sonucunda çok genç bir parti olarak Yeniden Refah Partisi'nin yanı sıra kadın konusunu siyasal partiler özelinde irdeleyen akademik çalışmaların sınırlı olduğu gözlenmiştir. Bu çalışma ise eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla arşiv araştırması tekniği, tarihsel ve betimsel araştırma yöntemleri ve söylem analizi aracılığıyla literatürdeki eksikliği bir ölçüde giderme iddiasını taşımıştır. Araştırmanın temel argümanı, Yeniden Refah Partisi'nin çoğu siyasal partinin aksine kadın konusuna dinsel (İslâmî) açıdan yaklaştığı tezine dayandırılmıştır. Milli Görüş hareketini referans alan Yeniden Refah Partisi'nin tüzüğü, parti programı, seçim beyannameleri ve parti yetkililerin açıklamaları incelendiğinde, İslâmiyet merkezli bir kadın politikasının benimsendiği ortaya çıkmaktadır.
