A Historical Investigation in terms of Forest-Society Relations: Polonezköy Example

Abstract

Turkey has been composed by diverse cultures in the course of history as a result of its geographical situationand human-nature relationships have been influenced by this multi-cultural structure. The Polish villagePolonezköy (Adampol) is one of the most interesting examples of such relationships. In this context this paperexamines the impacts of different cultures on forest- community relations. Starting with the analysis of thefoundation and historical development of Polonezköy the phases of socio-economic changes in this forest villageare discussed. In this historical process the transition of forest-society relations are investigated parallel to socioeconomicchanges. Furthermore, the effects of the evolution from a purely agricultural to a modern structure areplaced in the context of forest-society relations.

Türkiye, coğrafi konumunun bir sonucu olarak, tarihsel süreçte değişik kültürleri bünyesinde barındırmış veinsan-doğa ilişkileri bu çok kültürlü yapıdan etkilenmiştir. Polonezköy (Adampol) bu ilişkilerin en ilgi çekiciörneklerinden biridir. Bu makalede değişik kültürlerin orman-toplum ilişkileri üzerindeki etkisi incelenmektedir.Bu kapsamda önce Polonezköy'ün kuruluşu ve tarihsel gelişimi ele alınmakta daha sonra da bu orman köyündekisosyo-ekonomik değişimin evreleri tartışılmaktadır. Söz konusu tarihsel süreçte sosyo-ekonomik değişimeparalel olarak orman-toplum ilişkilerindeki geçişler de mercek altına alınmaktadır. Ayrıca, saf
