SÜREYYA BERFE'NİN ŞİİRLERİNDE SAVAŞ VE MİLİTARİZM

Abstract

Süreyya Berfe (d. 1943), modern Türk şiirinin 1960'tan sonraki tüm aşamalarına hem tanıklık eden hem de bu aşamaları yaşayan şairlerden biridir. Şiir serüveninin ilk döneminde soyut ve imgeci şiir anlayışını benimseyen şair, 1960'lı yılların sonunda toplumcu gerçekçi bir çizgi yakalar. Dünyada ve Türkiye'de gerçekleşen toplumsal ve siyasal olaylar onun şiirlerinde yansımalarını bulur. Savaş da, kimi zaman ideolojik çerçeve içinde şiire dâhil olurken ağırlıklı olarak insani ve vicdani yönleriyle Berfe'nin şiir evrenine girer. Savaş ve etkileri politik malzeme olmanın ötesinde ölüm, açlık, yoksulluk, yıkım ve kaybolan masumiyetle bir araya getirilir. Kıbrıs Savaşı'ndan Kore Savaşı'na, Şili'den Portekiz'e devrimci savaşlar, yarattığı trajik etkilerle birlikte Süreyya Berfe'nin şiirlerinde karşılık bulur. Bu çalışmada Süreyya Berfe'nin şiirlerinde savaş ve militarist anlayışın toplumsal/bireysel boyutlarıyla ele alınma biçimi değerlendirilmeye çalışılacaktır.

Süreyya Berfe (b. 1943) is one of the poets who both witnessed and alsolived all the phases of the development of modern Turkish poetry after the year 1960. The poet, who adopted an abstract and imagist approach during the first years of his poetry adventure, shifted to a socialist and realist style towards the end of the 1960s. Social and political events that took place in the World and in Turkey always had reflections in his poems. War as a subject also made its way into the poetic universe of Berfe, sometimes within an ideological framework, but mostly through its humanistic and conscientious aspects. Therefore, war and its effects do not appear in Berfe's poems within a political stand point, but with a manifestation of death, starvation, poverty, devastation and the disappearance of innocence. Wars at Cyprus and Korea, and the global revolutionary wars from ChiletoPortugal all found a place in Süreyya Berfe's poems with the tragic effects they had. In this study, the way in which war and militarist mentality were evaluated through their social / indivi dual aspects i n Süreyya Berfe's poems will tried to be interpreted.
