Okulöncesi Dönem Çocuklarin Eğitiminde Babalarin Rolü: Nitel Bir Analiz

Abstract

Çocuğun her dönemde olduğu gibi okulöncesi dönem eğitiminde de babaların büyük görev ve önemi bulunmaktadır. Ancak yapılan çalışmalar incelendiğinde çocuk yetiştirme konusunda mevcut geleneksel görüş ve tutumlar ve babaların çalışma hayatlarından dolayı çocuklarının okulöncesi dönem eğitiminde gereğince rol almadıkları ve bu konuda anneleri yalnız bıraktıkları görülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı 3-6 yaş okulöncesi dönem çocukların eğitiminde babaların rol alma durumlarını babaların, eşlerin ve öğretmenlerin görüşleri doğrultusunda belirlemektir. Araştırma 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında Karadeniz de bir il merkezinde çocuğu 3-6 yaş anaokuluna devam eden gönüllü 5 baba, 5 anne ve 5 okulöncesi öğretmeni ile yürütülmüştür. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel model ile tasarlanan bu çalışmada görüşme tekniği ile araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu olan “Okulöncesi Dönem Çocukların Babalarının Eğitime Katılma Durumlarını Belirleme Formu” kullanılmıştır. Görüşme formundan elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda babaların çocuklarının eğitimine yönelik en çok eğitici oyun oynadıkları, okul ödevlerine yardımcı oldukları, okul ihtiyaçlarıyla ilgilendikleri ve çocukların okula gidiş-gelişlerini sağladıkları en az ise okul toplantılarına katıldıkları, aile katılım çalışmalarına katıldıkları, çocuğun ilgisini çekecek oyun, deney ve hikâye araştırdıkları belirlenmiştir. Yine araştırmaya göre babaların çocukların eğitimine katılımını anne ve babalar yeterli görürken öğretmenlerin yetersiz gördüğü belirlenmiştir.

As in every period of the child, fathers have a great duty and importance in preschool education. However, when the studies are examined, it is seen that due to the current traditional views and attitudes about child rearing and the working lives of the fathers, their children do not play a role in preschool education and leave the mothers alone. The aim of this study is to determine the role of fathers in the education of preschool children aged 3-6 years in line with the opinions of fathers, spouses and teachers. The research was carried out with 5 volunteers, 5 mothers and 5 preschool teachers whose children attend kindergarten at the age of 3-6 in a city center in the Black Sea in the 2019-2020 academic year. In this study, which was designed with a descriptive model, which is one of the qualitative research methods, the semi-structured interview technique developed by the researcher, "Form for Determining the Participation Status of Fathers of Preschool Children" was used. The data obtained from the interview form were analyzed by content analysis. As a result of the research, it was determined that fathers played the most educational games for their children, helped with school assignments, were interested in school needs, and at least attended school meetings, attended family participation studies, researched games, experiments and stories to attract the attention of the child. Again according to the research, it was determined that the teachers considered the participation of the fathers in the education of the children sufficient while the parents considered it insufficient.
