| dc.description.abstract | The recent past had witnessed the use of a variety of nanomaterials in fabricating electrochemical sensors and it seems to be more advantageous due to their high surface area, surface energy, enhanced electron transfer, and strong adsorption ability. Further, these properties of nanomaterials can be increased by functionalizing them with quantum dots, surfactants, thiols, amines, phosphines, nitriles, disulfides, carboxylic acids, and biomolecules. The functionalization of nanoparticles enables them to play a major role in the field of biomedical, electrochemical, tissue engineering, and drug delivery. Among them all, an electrochemical sensor application of functionalized nanomaterials is a very interesting and challenging part. Therefore, in the present chapter, we have discussed the fabrication of various functionalized nanomaterials-based electrochemical sensors to detect various bioactive molecules like DNA, glucose, thrombin, acetaminophen, paracetamol, streptomycin, codeine, etc. The functionalized nanomaterial-based electrochemical sensors are a promising and robust platform for researchers to showcase high-quality research. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved. | |
