Awareness of the Digital World Given to Nursing Students The Effect of Education on Digital Literacy, Digital Addiction and Cyberbullying Levels

Abstract

In the study, it was aimed to examine the effects of digital world awareness training given to nursing students on digital literacy, digital addiction and cyberbullying levels. The universe of the research, which was conducted in a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest-follow-up test measurement in a single group, consisted of 230 students studying in the nursing department of a university located in the northwest region of our country. In the research, it was aimed to reach the whole universe without choosing the sample, the research was completed with 211 students. The data were collected with Personal Information Form, Digital Literacy Scale (DLS), Digital Addiction Scale (DAI), and Cyber Bullying Scale (CBI). Research; (1) pre-test, (2) Digital World Awareness Training, (3) post-test, (4) follow-up test. SPSS 22.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data. The mean age of the participants is 20,500±1,691, 72.0% of them are female, 43.6% of them are studying in the first grade, and the average daily time spent on the Internet is 3,980±1,810. The increase in the post-test and follow-up test was significant compared to the DOS pre-test (p0.05). Araştırmada hemşirelik öğrencilerine verilen dijital dünyaya yönelik farkındalık eğitiminin dijital okuryazarlık, dijital bağımlılık ve siber zorbalık düzeylerine etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tek grupta ön test-son test-izlem testi ölçümlü yarı deneysel desende yapılan araştırmanın evrenini ülkemizin kuzey batı bölgesinde bulunan bir üniversitesinin hemşirelik bölümünde okuyan 230 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada örneklem seçimine gidilmeden evrenin tamamına ulaşmak hedeflenmiş, araştırma 211 öğrenci ile tamamlanmıştır. Veriler Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Dijital Okuryazarlık Ölçeği (DOÖ), Dijital Bağımlılık Ölçeği (DBÖ) ve Siber Zorbalık Ölçeği (SZÖ) ile toplanmıştır. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 20,500±1,691, %72,0’ı kadın, %43,6’sı 1. sınıfta okumakta ve günlük internette geçirilen saat ortalaması 3,980±1,810’dur.
