EFFICIENCY OF İŞKUR IN COMBATING POVERTYAND ITS IMPACT ON EMPLOYMENT

Abstract

In this study, the employment-oriented activities of the Turkish Employment Agency in combating poverty in Turkey were examined. The institution organizes vocational courses on various subjects in order to employ people for the purpose of reducing poverty. In the courses organized by the institution, municipalities usually play an active role. Because most of the courses take place within the municipality. In the study, the employment data of the vocational training courses organized by the institution in the last twenty years were examined. The employment rates of 2021, which is the latest year for which data on employment are announced by the Agency, and 2000, are analyzed comparatively. In the last twenty years, although the course programs for the professions have been almost the same, there have been significant changes in the effect of the public and private sectors in employment.
