Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı hutbelerinin Gordon Allport'un ön yargı teorisi çerçevesinde değerlendirilmesi (2015-2024)

Abstract

Bu araştırma, Gordon W. Allport'un ön yargı teorisi çerçevesinde, Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı tarafından 2015-2024 yılları arasında yayımlanan hutbelerin incelenmesini konu edinmektedir. Allport, ön yargıyı bireysel tutumlardan toplumsal şiddete kadar uzanan aşamalı bir süreç olarak ele almakta ve bu süreci olumsuz söylem, kaçınma, ayrımcılık, fiziksel saldırı ve yok etme düzeyleriyle açıklamaktadır. Ayrıca iç grup-dış grup ayrımı, tehdit algısı, günah keçisi mekanizması ve bireyin dini yönelim tarzı ön yargının oluşumunda belirleyici unsurlar olarak görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda hutbeler, toplumsal değerlerin aktarımındaki rolleri ve güncel olaylara yönelik söylem üretme biçimleri açısından Allport'un kuramsal yaklaşımıyla ilişkilendirilmeye elverişli metinler olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığının 2025-2024 yılları arasında resmî olarak yayımladığı hutbeler arasından amaçlı örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiştir. Seçilen hutbeler, terör ve toplumsal çatışma, Filistin ve boykot söylemi, aile ve cinsiyet rolleri, etnik köken ve kimlik: mülteci/sığınmacı söylemleri ve kriz dönemleri: pandemi ve deprem temaları altında sınıflandırılmıştır. Hutbeler Allport'un ön yargı düzeyleri, iç-dış grup ayrımı, dinî yönelim, günah keçisi mekanizması ve temas hipotezi bağlamında içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırmanın bulguları, hutbelerde ağırlıklı olarak kapsayıcı, birleştirici ve toplumsal dayanışmayı güçlendirmeyi hedefleyen bir söylemi hâkim olduğunu göstermektedir. Kriz dönemleri, toplumsal çatışmalar ve mazlum topluluklara yönelik çağrılarda empati, adalet, merhamet ve sorumluluk gibi değerlerin öne çıktığı görülmüş; bazı metinlerde iç–dış grup ayrımına dair dolaylı vurgu bulunsa da bunun dışlayıcı veya düşmanlaştırıcı bir dile dönüşmediği tespit edilmiştir. Hutbelerde günah keçisi üretmeye yönelik bir söylem tercih edilmemiş, temas hipoteziyle uyumlu biçimde toplumsal gruplar arasında empati ve kardeşliği destekleyen mesajlara yer verilmiştir. Araştırma, hutbelerin toplumsal uyumun güçlendirilmesine katkı sunduğunu ve özellikle mültecilik, toplumsal cinsiyet ile sosyal çatışma gibi alanlarda kapsayıcı söylemlerin pekiştirilmesinin ön yargının azaltılmasına yardımcı olabileceğini ortaya koymaktadır. Gelecek çalışmalarda hutbelerin toplumsal etkilerinin ampirik yöntemlerle ölçülmesi ve farklı toplumsal grupların hutbe söylemleriyle ilişkilerinin incelenmesi önerilmektedir.

This research examines Friday and holiday sermons prepared by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (PRA) within the framework of Gordon W. Allport's theory of prejudice. Allport is one of the psychologists who stands out for his research on prejudice in the psychology of religion. Indeed, Allport shaped religiosity and personality typologies within the framework of his research on prejudice and religious orientations. He developed the contact hypothesis and the prejudice scale as a method of reducing prejudice. The contact hypothesis, in particular, plays an important role in peace studies and social cohesion. In this context, Allport distinguishes between levels of prejudice (elimination/destruction, physical aggression, discrimination, avoidance/withdrawal, backbiting/expressing opposition/antagonism-anti-speech), internal and external group distinction, internal and external religiosity, scapegoating, and the contact hypothesis. This research covers Friday and holiday sermons published by the PRA between 2015 and 2024. In this context, the conceptual framework of the research consists of prejudice and stereotyping, sources of prejudice, Allport's perspective on prejudice and religion, sermons, the etymology of sermons, and the historical development of sermons. The selection of sermon texts will be carried out using purposive sampling. The scope of the research is limited to the official sermon texts published by the PRA. These texts have been linked to themes covering Allport's perspective on prejudice, such as levels of prejudice, internal and external group distinctions, internal and external religiosity, scapegoating, and the contact hypothesis. At the same time, the sermon texts have been systematized by dividing them into the following subject headings that can be associated with the aforementioned themes through purposive sampling: 'Terrorism and Social Conflict, the Palestinian Genocide and Boycott, Family and Gender, Ethnic Origin and Identity: The Example of Refugees or Asylum Seekers, Times of Crisis: The Example of Pandemic and Earthquake'. The findings obtained were presented from a psycho-social perspective through relational content analysis.
