Kerria japonica (L.) DC. (KANARYA GÜLÜ) TÜRÜNE GENEL BİR BAKIŞ

Abstract

Çin ve Japonya'ya endemik monotipik bir tür olan Kerria japonica (L.) DC. estetik ve fonksiyonel özellikleri dolayısıyla gerek Avrupa'da gerekse ABD de on yıllardır yaygın olarak süs bitkisi olarak yetiştirilmekte ve kullanılmaktadır. İlkbahar aylarında açan parlak sarı renkli katmerli çiçekleri, huşa benzeyen yaprakları ve yeşil sürgünleri ile oldukça dekoratif bir görünüm sergilemektedir. Peyzaj uygulamalarında estetik özelliklerinin yanında kuraklık, düşük sıcaklık ve yoğun gölge gibi çevre koşullarına koşullara yüksek toleransı ve yapraklarının toz tutma kapasitesi diğer tercih nedenleridir. Dış mekan süs bitkisi olmasının yanı sıra kesme çiçek ve kuru çiçek olarak ta değerlendirilebilmektedir. Tıbbi bitki olarak geleneksel Çin tıbbında bazı hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanılmaktadır. Vejetatif olarak çelikle kolayca çoğaltılabilen Kerria japonica ülkemizde Nisan-Haziran aylarında çiçek açan, çiçeklenme süresi uzun olan sarı renkli çalı ihtiyacını karşılayacak önemli bir bitki niteliğindedir. Bu çalışmada Kerria japonica türünün kullanım ve çoğaltım çalışmalarına esas teşkil etmek üzere türün genel özellikleri, ekolojik istekleri, üretimi ve kullanımına ilişkin bilgiler gözden geçirilerek derlenmiştir.

Kerria japonica (L.) DC is a decidious shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family. Kerria japonica, a monotypic species endemic to China and Japan. Due to its aesthetic and functional properties, it has been widely grown and used as an ornamental plant for decades both in Europe and the USA. It is mostly used in parks and gardens in the world, and culture varieties are generally used in landscape applications. Kerria japonica 'Pleniflora', which has a double flower structure, is the most well-known and most preferred cultivar in applications. In Turkey, the production and use of Kerria japonica as an ornamental plant is very limited, and it is difficult to obtain plants from nurseries. It exhibits a highly decorative appearance with its bright yellow colored multilayered flowers, birch-like leaves and green shoots that bloom in spring. In addition to its aesthetic properties in landscape applications, its high tolerance to environmental conditions such as drought, low temperature and intense shade and the dust holding capacity of its leaves are other reasons for preference. In addition to being an shrub, it can also be used as a cut flower and dried flower. It is used as a medicinal plant in the treatment of some diseases in traditional Chinese medicine. It contains flavonoids (Linariin and isolinariin) with anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, Kerinol, a new lignan, was detected for the first time in this plant. Kerria japonica, which can be easily propagated by cuttings vegetatively, is an important plant that blooms in April-June in our country and will meet the need for yellow bushes with a long flowering period. In this study, information on the general characteristics, ecological requirements, propagation and usage of the Kerria japonica species has been reviewed and compiled to form the basis for the usage and reproduction studies. The reproduction of Kerria japonica and its place in the ornamental plant nurseries will be a great gain for the ornamental plants and landscape sector of our country.
