Özet
The aim of the present study is to propose new coating materials, i.e. basaltic pumice, colemanite, barite and ground granulated blast furnace slag which protect rebars against corrosion. The reinforcements were previously coated with materials obtained by using different mixtures of basaltic pumice, colemanite, barite and ground granulated blast furnace slag. The samples with embedded reinforcement were left for corrosion to occur. Various corrosion tests were carried out and the resulting corrosion ratios were determined. Based on the information obtained in this research, it is concluded that precoating steel rebars embedded in concretes delays corrosion in abrasive environments such as chloride comminuted ones. Furthermore, it is obvious that the procedure proposed in the present study and similar methods can be applied in other industrial fields to provide additional economical improvements.
