Physical literacy is a multidimensional competence that supports individuals’ lifelong engagement in physical activities and facilitates the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits. This concept significantly impacts physical, mental, and social well-being, encompassing individuals of all age groups. In Turkey, low physical literacy poses a substantial barrier to maintaining healthy behaviors among the population. This study aims to analyze the current state of physical literacy in Turkey and to develop holistic strategies targeting different segments of society. The study emphasizes the role of physical literacy in health, cognitive development, and cultural identity formation by examining current educational policies, social trends, and practical implementations. It also presents strategic recommendations such as policy reforms, teacher training, community-based programs, and infrastructure investments for integrating physical literacy into the education system. In this context, it is argued that approaches based on physical literacy to enhance individuals’ quality of life should be implemented in alignment with Turkey’s public health policies.
