Sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarında yer alan kök değerler

Abstract

Araştırmada Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu Başkanlığı tarafından onaylanan, "MEB Yayıncılık, Ata Yayıncılık, Tuna Matbaacılık, Anadol Yayıncılık ve Ekoyay Eğitim Yayıncılık" tarafından hazırlanan, 2018 yılından itibaren beş yıl süre ile okullarda okutulmaya devam edilen ilk ve ortaokul sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarında MEB tarafından belirlenmiş olan kök değerlere (adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, sabır, saygı, sorumluluk, öz denetim, vatanseverlik, sevgi ve yardımseverlik) nasıl ve ne şekilde yer verildiği incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması modeli kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak ise doküman inceleme tekniğinden yararlanılmış ve betimsel analiz yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizinden elde edilen bulgular frekans ve yüzdelikler olarak sunulmuş örnek alıntılarla yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, MEB tarafından hazırlanan ders kitaplarında en fazla yer verilen kök değerlerin; adalet (%15,3), sorumluluk (%14,3) ve saygı (%13,4) olduğu, en az yer alan kök değerlerin ise sabır (%3), dürüstlük (5,5) ve öz denetim (%5,7) olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yayınevleri tarafından hazırlanan ders kitaplarında en fazla yer alan kök değerler vatanseverlik (%18,7), adalet (14,3) ve sorumluluk (%12,8) iken en az yer alan kök değerler sabır (%2,1), dürüstlük (4,8) ve öz denetim (%6,1) olarak belirlenmiştir. MEB ve özel yayınevleri tarafından hazırlanan ders kitaplarında değerler daha çok metin bölümünde yer alırken MEB tarafından hazırlanan ders kitaplarında doğrudan, yayınevleri tarafından hazırlanan ders kitaplarında ise daha çok dolaylı olarak kök değerlere yer verilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; ders ve yardımcı materyallerde değerlerin metin, görsel ve soru bölümlerinde bütüncül bir şekilde nasıl daha iyi verilebileceğine yönelik çalışmaların yapılması ve ders kitabı inceleme kriterlerinde kök değerlerin yer verilme durumunu güvence altına alan güncelleme yapılması önerilmiştir.

In the research, the first and secondary school social information, which has been approved by the Ministry of National Education, was prepared by the "MoNE Publishing, Ata Publishing, Tuna Publications, and Ekoyay Education Publishing", which was approved by the Presidency of the Ministry of National Education, has continued to be read in schools for five years since 2018, and has been established by the MoNE in social studies education textbooks (justice, friendship, honesty, patience, respect, responsibility, self-audit, patriotism, love, and charity) is intended to examine how and how it is included. The case study model was used in the research by qualitative research methods. As a data collection tool, the document review technique was utilized and descriptive analysis was performed. The findings from the analysis of the data are interpreted by sample quotes presented as frequency and percentages. As a result of the study, it was determined that the root values in the MoNE textbooks were justice (15,3%), responsibility (14,3%) and respect (13,4%), and the least-listed root values were patience (3%), honesty (5,5) and self-control (5,7%). The most root values in the textbooks prepared by publishers were determined as patriotism (18,7%), justice (14,3%) and responsibility (12,8%), while the least-mentioned root values were patience (2,1%), honesty (4,8) and self-control (6,1%). In the textbooks prepared by MoNE and private publishing houses, the values are mostly in the text section, while the textbooks prepared by MoNE are directly included in the textbooks prepared by the publishers and more indirectly in the textbooks prepared by the publishers. As a result of the research, it is recommended that the courses and assistive materials be carried out in the text, visual and question sections and that updates to ensure root values are included in the textbook review criteria are provided.
