Covid-19 pandemisinin iş yükü algısı ve tükenmişlik üzerindeki rolü: Bartın Üniversitesi akademisyenler üzerinde bir araştırma

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemisi ile birlikte üniversitelerde uzaktan eğitim süreci başlamış ve bu durumda yüz yüze ders yapmaya yönelik tüm öğretim yöntem, teknik ve ölçme değerlendirme sistemini değişmiştir. Akademisyenlerin akademik çalışma alışkanları da bu süreçte değişmiş ya da çalışmalara bir süre ara verilmiştir. Artan iş yükü ve sürecin tedirginliği ile karşı karşıla kalan akademisyenler yoğun stres ve tükenmişlik yaşamışlardır. Araştırmanın amacı; akademisyenlerin iş yükü algısı ve tükenmişliklerinde Covid-19 pandemisinin rolü tespit etmektir. Bu amacı gerçekleştirmek için akademisyenlerin pandemi öncesi ve sürecindeki iş yükü algıları ve tükenmişlik düzeyleri ayrı ayrı tespit edilerek karşılaştırılmıştır. Çalışma nicel araştırma yöntemi ve tarama deseninde şekillendirilmiştir. Veriler araştırmacıların oluşturduğu kişisel bilgiler formu, İş Yükü Algısı Ölçeği ve Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği bölümlerinden oluşan anket formu ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular incelendiğinde, katılımcıların iş yükü algısı ve tükenmişlik düzeylerinde Covid-19 pandemi sürecinde ve öncesine göre artış olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca pandemi sürecinin akademisyenlerin iş yükü ve tükenmişlik düzeylerini artırmasına ilişkin görüşlerinde bazı demografik değişkenler açısından farklılık oluşturduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın akademisyenlerin iş yükü algısı ve tükenmişliklerinde pandemi öncesi ve sürecini karşılaştırması bakımından literatüre katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, the distance education process has started to be carried out in universities, and in this case, the whole teaching method, technique and measurement and evaluation system for face-to-face lessons has been changed. Academic working habits of academics have also changed in this process, or studies have been suspended for a while. Academicians who were faced with increased workload and anxiety of the process experienced intense stress and burnout. The research aims to determine the role of the Covid-19 pandemic in the effect of academicians' perception of workload on their burnout. In order to achieve this goal, the workload perceptions and burnout levels before and during the pandemic of the academicians were determined and compared separately. The study was shaped by quantitative research methods and scanning design. The data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of the personal information form created by the researchers, Workload Perception Scale and Maslach Burnout Scale sections. When the findings obtained were examined, it was determined that there was an increase in the perception of workload and the burnout levels of the participants during the Covid-19 pandemic and compared to before. In addition, it has been determined that the pandemic process creates differences in terms of some demographic variables in the views of academics about increasing workload and burnout levels. It is thought that this study will contribute to the literature in terms of comparing the pre-pandemic and process of academics' workload perception and burnout.
