Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesine olan turistik talebin ekonometrik bir yaklaşımla tahmini

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting the demand of Eastern Black Sea Region, which demands tourists as the tourism sector in Turkey has advanced a lot and to test what factors are in the control of the region. When the factors are determined, it will be possible to assert that different policies may be necessary on the basis of countries. Thus, the investments in tourism in the region will be realized taking into consideration the results of the demands. Least Squares Method has been made use of in the study. In order to represent the demand, the number of tourists staying in the region was taken as basis. The factors affecting this variable are; income per capita, currency rates, consumer price index and the number of beds having touristic operation certificate. With the help of these variables, a multiple regression equation was formed and the equation was anticipated separately for each of the five countries sending tourists to Eastern Black Sea region. A fifteen-year-period between the years 1985-2000 was selected so as to anticipate the demand from five countries to the region. After the model was anticipated using the Least Squares Method, F and T tests were applied to test the significance of variables and the model as a whole. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the demand of tourists visiting the region was affected most by the number of beds. The tourism enterprises in the region should increase the number of high quality beds and fill the vacant beds with reasonable prices.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, ülkemiz turizm sektörünün bugün ulaştığı nokta itibariyle turist talep eden Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesinin talebini etkileyen faktörler ve bu faktörlerden hangilerinin bölge kontrolünde olduğunun test edilmesidir. Belirlenen faktörlerle turist gönderen ülkeler bazında farklı politikaların gerekli olabileceğini ortaya koymak mümkün olacaktır. Buna göre de bölgede yapılacak yatırımların bu tahminlerin sonuçlarına göre yapılması gerektiği önem kazanacaktır. Çalışmada “En Küçük Kareler” (EKK) yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Burada talebi temsil etmek için bölgede konaklayan turist sayısı esas alınmıştır. Bu değişkeni etkileyen faktörler ise; kişibaşı gelir, döviz kurları, tüketici fiyatları endeksi ve turistik işletme belgeli yatak sayısıdır. Bu değişkenler yardımıyla bir çoklu regresyon denklemi oluşturulmuş ve denklem Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesine turist gönderen beş ülke için ayrı ayrı tahmin edilmiştir. Beş ülkeden bölgeye olan turizm talebini tahmin etmek için 1985-2000 yılları arasını kapsayan onbeş yıllık dönem seçilmiştir. Model EKK yöntemiyle tahmin edildikten sonra değişkenlerin ve modelin bir bütün halinde anlamlılığını test etmek için F ve T test istatistikleri uygulanmıştır. Analiz sonucunda bölgeye gelen turistlerin turizm talebini en fazla yatak sayısının etkilediği bulunmuştur. Bölgedeki turistik işletmeler kaliteli yatak sayısını artırıp, uygun bir fiyatla boş yatakları doldurmalıdır.
