Alümina seramik plakaların şekillendirilmesi ve balistik incelenmesi
Abstract
Mankind has tried to protect himself from external influences throughout his life, and for this reason, armors have emerged. The production of armor, which started with steel cables, has been tried with different materials until today, and studies are still being carried out on it and the best results are sought. In this study, armor samples are produced by pressing method for 2 different samples with different geometries using aluminum oxide (Al2O3), that is, alumina powder. After it is produced, it tries to add strength to the armor with the firing process applied at a certain temperature and time. Mechanical tests were applied to the samples whose production was completed. Its internal structure was examined in Sem images. Ballistic tests were applied to sandwich-type armor samples created using steel plates on the front and back surfaces. As expected, results were obtained in the ballistic test applied with 7.62x51mm ammunition type. It has been observed that the ammunition used in the ballistic test has a high output velocity and energy, and the correct production and design of the armors are created. When the literature was examined, it was seen that the results were almost the same. As a result of the studies, it has been seen that the lightness, cost, high performance values of the alumina ceramic sample and its performance in physical tests, and the suitability of the ceramic powder for armor production.
