DNA ve genetik kod ünitesine yönelik quizbean uygulamasının öğrencilerin sınava karşı tutumlarına etkisinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma, elektronik ölçme ve değerlendirme uygulamalarından biri olan “Quizbean” programının fen derslerinde kullanılmasının öğrencilerin sınava karşı tutumlarına olan etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ön test-son test ile şekillenmiş yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Çalışma 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında Bartın ilinde bulunan MEB’e bağlı bir devlet okulunun sekizinci sınıfında öğrenimlerine devam eden 48 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin yer aldığı sınıflardan biri deney grubu diğeri ise kontrol grubu olarak atanmıştır. Uygulama öncesinde ve sonrasında sınava karşı tutum ölçeği deney ve kontrol grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin tamamına ön ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Kontrol grubunda bulunan öğrencilere DNA ve Genetik Kod ünitesi işlenirken her konu sonunda konu ile ilgili çoktan seçmeli sorular klasik kâğıt kalem test şeklinde yöneltilmiştir. Deney grubunda yer alan öğrenciler ise her konu sonunda kendilerine yönlendirilen soruları Quizbean programı aracılığı ile cevaplamışlardır. Araştırma verileri araştırmacılar tarafından beşli Likert tipi ölçek şeklinde geliştirilen “sınava karşı tutum ölçeği” kullanılarak toplanmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen veriler SPSS 21 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Sınava karşı tutum ölçeğinden elde edilen araştırma sonuçlarına bakıldığında deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu gözlenmiştir. Yani farklı bir deyişle elektronik ölçme değerlendirme biçiminde yapılan sınavlara karşı öğrencilerin daha olumlu tutum sergiledikleri anlaşılmaktadır. Elektronik ölçeme değerlendirme uygulamaları ile zenginleştirilmiş öğrenme ortamlarının daha olumlu etkiler ortaya çıkarma potansiyeline sahip olacağına inanılmaktadır. Benzer çalışmaların cinsiyet ve günlük internet kullanım süresi gibi değişkenler gözetilerek gerçekleştirilebileceği düşünülmektedir.

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of the use of "QuizBean" program in science courses on the students' attitude toward the test which is one of electronical measurement and assessment applications. In the research, quasi-experimental design which is formed by pre-test and post-test is used in quantitative research methods. The study was carried out with 48 students who continued their education in the eighth grade of a state school affiliated to MEB in the province of Bartın in the academic year of 2017-2018. One of the classes in which the students are placed is assigned to the experimental group and the other is assigned to the control group. Attitudes towards exam scale was applied as pre- and post-test to all students in the experimental and control group before and after the implementations. When the DNA and Genetic Code unit was being processed for the students in the control group, multiple-choice questions related to the subject at the end of each topic were directed through the classical paper-pencil test. The students in the experiment group responded to the questions directed to them at the end of each topic through the QuizBean program. The research data were collected by the researchers using the "attitudes towards test scale" developed as a five-point Likert type scale. The data obtained within the scope of the study were analyzed using the SPSS 21 program. When we look at the results of the study on the attitudes towards test scale, it is observed that there is a significant difference in favor of the experimental group. In other words, it is understood that the students have more positive attitude towards examinations made in the form of electronic measurement evaluation. It is believed that enriched learning environments with electronic measurement evaluation applications will have potential to reveal more positive effects. It is thought that similar studies can be carried out by considering variables such as gender and duration of daily internet use.
